The Nasty Women Art Chicago exhibit and fundraiser for Planned Parenthood IL, will be held on Friday, May 5, at Moonlight Studios, 1446 W. Kinzie in Chicago from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
What began as a Facebook reaction to the results of the November 2016 presidential election, Nasty Women Exhibition has quickly grown to become a world-wide movement of female artistic expression, empowerment and fundraising at nearly 50 events across the U.S. and around the world.
Nasty Women Exhibition is a global movement among artists who want to actively resist the threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights and abortion rights. The movement capitalizes on the insult of ‘nasty woman’ that Donald Trump hurled at Hillary Clinton during a presidential debate—a line that has become a rallying cry for women’s rights.
Nasty Women Art Chicago seeks diverse artistic voices and submissions for the exhibition. The subject of the work can be—but does not have to be—political in nature. Deadline for submissions is April 5. More details about submissions and the event can be found at www.nastywomenartchicago.org .
