The South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade Film Festival will be held at the Beverly Arts Center on Saturday, March 5th. The evening will feature a reception with traditional Irish music, two Irish film shorts and a feature presentation of the acclaimed “Brooklyn”. The Academy Award nominated film starring Saoirse Ronan tells the story of a young Irish woman’s immigration to Brooklyn in 1952. The 2016 South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for Sunday, March 13th. The 2015 South Side Irish Parade featured over 100 entries and attracted more than 200,000 spectators. The parade is operated by the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, where more than 60 volunteers work year round to ensure this family friendly celebration continues for future generations.
