Soulful Sunday is a weekly dose of inspiration from busy Chicago women who still manage to stay balanced no matter what their career—or life—throws their way.
Leah Chavie, of Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique.
Leah Chavie makes a living beautifying clients from all over the city at her celebrated skincare boutique in Lincoln Park. From detoxifying body wraps to facials that treat every concern imaginable, the laundry list of services Chavie offers is among one of the most comprehensive we've ever seen. Of course, with all this passion and attention to detail comes a jam-packed schedule—one that also includes philanthropic endeavors outside of the treatment room. Regardless, this beauty queen still finds time give back to herself, too.
How She Unwinds:
"I love to spend my free time with the ones I love the most—my dogs! I walk my puppies around the neighborhood rain or shine. I always drink alkaline water to balance my body’s pH level after we go on a long jaunt. Health-wise, I also love meditation and yoga as tools to calm and center my body and mind. Lately I've been taking to spiritually-driven books, so I like to spend 30-minutes to myself each morning to focus on internal growth. I find it's very helpful to really engage and center yourself before being thrown into the daily chaos. Above all else, I unwind how I know best: with beauty rituals such as my go-to Pumpkin Enzyme or O2 Lift Mask."
"Finding a balance between work and yourself is a choice you have to choose to make daily. Don't be afraid to give into your sweet tooth (I usually have a Sleep Time chocolate square right before bed), pamper yourself, or give back to an organization you deeply feel passionate about. Find things that genuinely make you internally and outwardly happy, and continue to do them!"
