- Pro athletes spend six days a week preparing for one day a week—the big game! They take their sport seriously and rarely have a "day off." Take a page from their book and focus on a lifelong commitment to yourself, your health, and your fitness. It can become a part of your everyday life and something that you enjoy when you make it fun!
- Speaking of fun, NFL players celebrate their wins, touchdowns, interceptions, and all of their successes. They celebrate with their teammates, coaches, and fans. Celebrate YOUR successes, big or small, with your family, friends, and even on social media. Success breeds success, so spend time gloating!
- Finally, just like an NFL player, don't expect to reap the benefits of a workout or healthy lifestyle change without putting in some effort. My weight-loss clients are sometimes shocked when they stop seeing results. My question then is always, "What are you doing differently or what have you stopped doing recently? Let's analyze this." Nine times out of ten, something affected their commitment to their weight-loss journey or they got out of a routine. Focus on the things that you are doing everyday and how you can become even healthier and put some effort into those areas.
