ACE call for applications
A juried exposition and sale of fine craft, American Craft Exposition ACE features one-of-a-kind pieces, luxury collections and uniquely creative artwork from the country’s finest artisans. Presented by The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), ACE will once again be held at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL, the weekend of September 15-17th, 2017, with the Benefit Preview Party being held on Thursday, September 14th.
Approximately 140 craft artists will be chosen to participate in this year’s ACE to showcase new achievements in ceramics, metal, fiber wearables, glass, furniture, fiber decorative, leather, wood, jewelry, mixed media, paper and basketry. In addition to featuring unique pieces from award-winning craftspeople, ACE is committed to fostering the next generation of artists. Those who have been practicing their craft for less than six years and who have never exhibited at ACE are encouraged to apply for the emerging artist category, which will be juried separately from the other applicants. The deadline for all artists to submit their applications is March 10th, 2017.
All proceeds from ACE 2017 will support two important research initiatives at NorthShore: Orthopaedic Regenerative Medicine Research at the NorthShore Orthopaedic Institute and Pharmacogenomics Research at the NorthShore Center for Personalized Medicine.
ACE 2017 will begin on Thursday, September 14 with a Benefit Preview Party from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Chicago Botanic Garden. The show runs throughout the weekend: Friday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, September 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance for a single three-day pass and $45 for two three-day passes.
