A Toast to the Gilded Age: The Art of Absinthe
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum is pleased to announce a lecture that explores the enigmatic fin-de-siècle drink, notoriously identified with Montmartre’s thriving bohemian artist culture in Belle Époque Paris. Filmmaker Christopher Buddy will briefly discuss his documentary film, Absinthe, and will give guests an opportunity to taste several cocktails inspired by "The Green Fairy." Tickets are $65 for members, $75 for the public.

Chicago Art & Design Show at Navy Pier
A brand new juried art show is taking place in Chicago! Proudly presented by the award-winning Amdur Productions, the Chicago Art & Design Show at Navy Pier is featuring original art of all mediums including, glass, jewelry, furniture, ceramics, sculpture, wearable art and photography, as well as extraordinary work from local furniture designers, graphic designers, interior designers, and photographers. ArchiSketch: Lincoln Park Zoo & Garden
ArchiSketch Chicago offers in-depth workshops that teach drawing skills and techniques, along with historical narrations of Chicago’s architectural legacy, styles and their connection to its rich cultural heritage. This upcoming workshop will focus on the late 19th and early 20th century architecture and social aspects of visiting Lincoln Park Zoo and Garden, as well as its ongoing preservation for future generations. Lincoln Park Zoo & Garden ArchiSketch Chicago is a three-hour workshop with planned stops for introduction, instruction and sketching and walking (estimated at one mile) to each stop. Admission is free, but you must register to be a part of this event.
