First and foremost, you need to enable “check-ins.” To do so, follow these steps from Facebook.
Once you have enabled check-ins, you will receive notifications from Facebook every time a customer checks-in! Brace yourself….it gets better! Once your customer has checked-in, continue the conversation by taking the time to Like and or Comment on their post as your business! By doing this, you are letting your customer know that you care.
In the Instagram App, go to “Search,” type in your business and click “Places.” The address and or the name of your business will show up. Click it, and be warned—you will see exactly what all of your guests are up to! Even better, similar to Facebook, you can then engage with your guests by liking or commenting on posts that they took the time to share after being at your location!
While check-ins can be used as a business tool, they are also a great branding tool. Each time a customer checks in, it produces exposure as their network sees their experience and are given the opportunity to click on your business's name.
But how do we get customers to check in? The best way is to give them a great experience! When customers feel great about something they chose, they naturally love to share their experience with their closest family and friends through social media.
Still, even with a great experience, there are times that we all need a reminder. Easily remind customers to check-in by asking on your platforms, adding it to signage, and giving your guests a reason to check-in by creating an area in your space that provides picturesque opportunities.
