Soulful Sunday is a weekly dose of inspiration from busy Chicago women who still manage to stay balanced no matter what their career—or life—throws their way.

Kristina Magro, beverage manager at Fulton Market Kitchen in the West Loop, spends her nights shaking and mixing some of Chicago’s best craft cocktails (there are four different types of Old Fashioneds on the menu!) for guests. Six days a week she can be found making imaginative drinks and creating a new, elevated experience for Chicago’s evolving cocktail culture. On her one day for herself, she makes decompressing a priority.
How she unwinds:
"Sundays are my only day off, so I like to sleep in. When I finally roll out of bed, I venture down to The Dawson for brunch. The staff there is always super friendly. I usually get their take on a McMuffin and wash it down with a sherry cobbler. If I don't go to The Dawson, I like to head over to Rootstock and indulge in a bottle of bubbly. Then, I love catching up with friends on the patio before going home to watch one of my favorite programs. Most recently, it was Game of Thrones, right up to the dramatic season finale."
Her advice:
"Having a good work ethic is important, but don't forget about the quality of life in the process."
